The Pastoral Paradigm
The work engages with the environment of a stable. Motifs appear consistently to imply a visual key- it functions to establish logic for an alternate world. The relationship between the multi-perspectival verses that of the non-perspectival, when paired with the use of intuitive color, confuses ground relationships. Thus the liminality of the environment is born.
Visual information is presented in fragments throughout the body of work, functioning both two-dimensionally and three-dimensionally. The end of the canvas is the end of the world, visual entrances operate on a limited basis so that within this world claustrophobia isn’t relative, it’s an absolute.
